MEET DANA

Self-taught artist Dana based in Miami, FL uses abstract and Resin art to be free and break from the traditional approaches and style of paintings. Being born and raised in Miami Florida where Art Basel is extremely popular inspired the idea of becoming a painter and experimenting with colors. Abstract art is a way to be free and for the artist to use their imagination and creativity to create pieces that will have millions of different meanings to each person that lay their eyes on the canvas.

Being able to apply abstract art to wide ranges of projects makes being an abstract artist more exciting. Abstraction focuses on visual mood and personality of the image with the manipulation of different colors and strokes. Resin art is also a way of breaking from traditional art pieces. Resin art is a collision of colors that can be poured onto a canvas, surface, or products. The versatility of it all contributes to abstract. Currently Dana enjoys making art pieces using acrylic on canvases or resin on canvases.Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.

We live in a world with a set of rules to follow, and a set of standards that should be met, however when it comes to the world of abstract or resin art, you can break all rules, and forget all standards and let your hand and mind be free to do whatever it wants. Abstract painting can mean whatever you want it to, whether you’re the artist or the viewer of the art. I took an interest in painting in January 2020 right before Covid 19 changed our world, and once the lockdown began in March, I took my painting to another level when I started to research different artists and techniques, and realized that abstract expressionism was an outlet for me to escape the reality of what was going on around me and in the world.

Having people view my work or having my canvases hung up in their home brings joy to my heart.IT inspires me to keep going and keep shining light through my work. Through my talent, I can inspire others to be free with their thoughts, and it fuels me to keep creating. I hope to one day have my art hanging in multiple homes, museums, or even local coffee shops in several different countries. I believe my work can inspire others to be free spirited and get lost in their imagination. My generation is stuck in a mindset that you must be a certain way and must always go with the standard flow, But I always ask myself, what happens if you go against the flow? And that’s exactly how I feel about abstract expressionism. Going against the flow on every canvas has created a beautiful disaster.”
