It’s not always black and white Collection

"It's not always black and white" collection is a very special set of paintings to me. It was inspired by the events that were taking place during the nationwide protests that occurred during the pandemic in 2020. It was a time where people looked beyond color and all nations and every race gathered together for one common goal which was justice. I often ask myself why can't we all just look beyond skin color and just love each other for who we are on the inside. As an African American woman who has experienced racism at first hand, I dream that one day people will look beyond black and white, and love each individual and treat them with love and handle with care. When creating this series my sole goal was to put black and white on a canvas with a touch of color. I envision everyone looking at each of these art pieces and looking past the black and white and notice the whole beauty of the colors blended so well on the canvas, hence the series title "It's not always black and white."
